GET FIRED UP is a paint your own pottery studio in downtown Melbourne, FL.

Pottery painting is a great activity for individuals, couples, families and small groups…and it is something even young children can easily do. We will show you everything you need to know!

We have over 400 items you can choose from. Most items are priced at $25 or less and that price includes the whole process, painting, clear glaze, and firing.

Most projects can be completed in about 2 hours or less. Once you are done painting we will fire your pottery and you can come back in about 3-4 days to pick up the finished pottery.

We take reservations and walk ins (when tables are available) to paint pottery in the studio. During the summer while school is out we are busy most of the time and often full. Reservations are highly recommended. You can call 321.729.0222 and speak to a staff person to make a reservation.

Alternately, you can pick up a take-home kit which includes the pottery and glazes that you choose. You paint at home then bring the finished pottery back to the studio to be fired.

Frequently Asked Questions

We don’t have classes…you work individually and at your own pace. We will show you everything you need to know to begin your project.

We can take walk-ins when we have open tables. But we highly recommend a reservation on Firday and Saturday, school holidays and summer break when we tend to fill up. Call 321.729.0222 to make a table reservation. We can not take reservations by e-mail, message or voice mail.

Most of our pottery is priced at $25 or less. That price includes everything…painting and firing. We do have some items that are priced higher.

Most projects will take about 2 hours to complete. We might limit you to 3 hours if the studio is full. But you can always take unfinished items home and come back later to finish at no extra charge.

When you finish painting we are going to dip the pottery in a clear glaze and fire it. That process takes about 3-4 days. We will tell you when your pottery is expected to be ready so you will know when to come back and get it.
Yes…it is great for all ages. We often have had newborn babies in the studio getting their foot prints put on a commemorative plate or mug. Our only requirement for young children is that they be accompanied by someone who will be responsible for them.
Yes…all of our glazes are non-toxic. Fired pottery can be used with food and are dishwasher safe. We do not recommend using the pottery in microwave ovens.
The glazes are water soluble and are easily removed from clothing by normal washing. We cannot be certain about every type of clothing and so we recommend not wearing expensive or hard to wash clothing. We have a limited number of aprons for small children if you would like to use them.

Yes…many people bring drinks or light snacks with them to eat while they paint. There is a coffee shop next door and several fast food restaurants nearby where you can get food. We recommend that you not get greasy or messy food while you are painting because grease can cause problems with the glazes during firing. NOTE: Food is not allowed with the children’s painting parties.

We are at 536 East New Haven Avenue in downtown Melbourne. We are near the intersection of Hallwood and McQuaid with New Haven. We are 1 block west of the Post Office and next door to the Sun Shoppe Cafe.

We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm.  We could close an hour early if no one is in the studio. The latest you can be seated to start painting is 7:00.
